Recently, I read a News item on the BBC News Website. Apparently there is a group called the 'Chronic Pain Policy Coalition' that is in favour having pain recognised as a disease in its own - at best it is seen as part of larger problem or not treatable. Yet apparently, 8 million in Britain are in pain, many of them in chronic pain, £584 million is spent on prescriptions every year for painkillers and only 2% of sufferers seen a specialist.
