I was in Stockholm for a conference at Södertörn University from the 18 – 22nd of May on Bodily Phenomenology. I have just arrived home. I met some wonderful people there (many of whom I have admired since my undergraduate days), all working on phenomenology. It was the first time in a long while a felt that there were some people trying to enlarge phenomenology as a philosophy. I was surprised at how well my talk was received, my talk not being particularly bodily.
Sweden is a great place, I felt safe there, very easy to access by tube using a card, ironically named ‘Access’ which is a kind of the Swedish version of the Oyster card. I went to the Royal Palace and Parliament, unlike in London you can get quite close without being stopped by the Royal guards.
I will write more on this later, but it was a great place. I hope to visit it again soon.
